Stand Out with Tax-Free Contributions to Trump Accounts for Young Employees
Starting in 2026, employers can contribute up to $2,500 annually, tax-free, to newly established Trump Accounts for employees’ children or for teen workers themselves. These accounts are designed to promote long-term savings and financial literacy among youth. To qualify, employers must adopt a written plan, avoid favoring highly compensated employees, notify workers of the benefit, and issue an annual summary of contributions by January 31. Modeled after DCAP compliance, this program offers a unique way for employers, especially those hiring Gen Z talent, to differentiate and attract early-career employees in a competitive job market.
Guardian to Launch Digital Dental & Vision ID Cards
Starting mid-July, Guardian rolled out digital ID cards for dental and vision members. Employees will be able to access updated ID cards instantly on their mobile devices—no more waiting for mail or replacing lost cards. Those enrolled with an email on file will receive a link to their digital card upon request. Paper cards will still be available for those who prefer them. Horizon Introduces New BlueHPN Regional Network Option
Horizon BCBSNJ has launched Horizon Level Select–BlueHPN, a new plan option featuring a localized regional network. BlueHPN offers a cost-effective alternative to the national BlueCard network, while maintaining consistent benefits. It’s designed for small to midsize groups with employees in NJ, Metro Philly, and Metro NY. This regional solution supports benefit parity across nearby states—without the national network price tag. New Behavioral Health Communications Toolkit for Employers
IBX has launched a behavioral health toolkit designed for employers to share with their employees. The ready-to-use materials include information on accessing behavioral health benefits and general mental health education. IBX Adds “Bill Ready” Email Notifications for Group Invoices
As of July 1, IBX will send “Bill Ready” email notifications to users with billing access when invoices are posted in the Group Portal. Notifications begin with August 2025 invoices and include invoice numbers. Fully insured clients receive alerts for PDF invoices and CSV files; self-funded clients get notices for non-PHI PDF summaries. Users with multiple accounts will receive one notification per invoice. Compliance Corner! New Law Impacts Employer Benefits
Signed on July 4, 2025, the One Big Beautiful Bill Act preserves the tax exclusion for employer-sponsored health insurance and brings meaningful updates to employee benefits. HDHP participants can now receive telehealth and direct primary care services without losing HSA eligibility. Starting in 2026, dependent care FSAs can reimburse up to $7,500 annually. The law also includes other updates—like expanded education and paid leave tax exclusions—but employers should focus now on adjusting benefit strategies for these key HSA and DCAP enhancements.
